Global Expansion: DraftWise Head of Sales on Launching a London Office

As DraftWise continues to expand its presence globally and the team builds critical partnerships with some of the largest firms in the world, I’m excited to be at the forefront of this effort. 

Establishing a London Presence

This September, we officially opened the London office. Prompted by strong deal flow in London – and several new European customers, establishing a permanent presence in this legal hub ensures a direct line of communication with local firms. It also positions us to attract top-tier talent as our team continues to grow. 

The timing couldn’t be better. The opening of our new office comes in tandem with the recent announcement of our collaboration with Cohere for enhanced retrieval and performance.

We recognize London’s pivotal role in the global legal market and its longstanding reputation for legal excellence. That’s why we chose to locate our office near Shoreditch, a vibrant area surrounded by many of the city’s leading firms. Embedding ourselves in this community allows us to foster stronger relationships with the lawyers we serve every day.

Prioritizing Client Relationships 

Global expansion has always been part of the growth plans for Draftwise, but since our Series A, we’ve seen an uptick in large law firms piloting our platform. As more firms adopt DraftWise, we remain steadfast in our dedication to providing exceptional client service.

For us, that means more than just delivering innovative technology—it means being present. By placing client-facing roles in London, we’re fostering stronger connections within the legal community and ensuring open lines of communication with users. This direct engagement helps us shape a roadmap that addresses the unique challenges lawyers face, including the growing need for seamless, precedent-based drafting tools.

The London office also serves as a launchpad for broader European expansion. We’ve already invested in key regional events, including LegalTech Talk 2025 and ILTAEuro, as well as Inside Practice’s inaugural UK // KM event, where our Chief Customer Officer, Will Seaton, shared insights on how technology is reshaping and empowering the KM function at law firms.

Growth Beyond Europe

Our expansion isn’t limited to Europe. DraftWise has also seen significant interest from Canadian firms, leading to new commercial agreements with some of the largest transactional-focused firms in the region. These partnerships highlight the universal appeal of tools that streamline legal work and improve drafting precision.

We’re also encouraged by the influx of venture capital into legal tech across Europe and other countries. Aligning with this growing interest unlocks opportunities to bring advanced, AI-driven drafting solutions to more lawyers, enabling them to deliver exceptional outcomes for their clients.
